How close is the sea?
About 50 meters. There's a public path to the sea directly across the road from us, which is rare here. Most beaches involve a longer walk around private properties. Planjka, the main sandy beach, is roughly a 10-minute walk along the seaside promenade.
Is parking included?
Yes. Each apartment gets one free parking spot on the property, in an enclosed area in front of the apartments. If you're coming with two cars, let us know and we'll try to arrange a second spot, but we can't guarantee it.
Apartment Romana or Apartment Teja: which should I pick?
Both sleep five guests in the same layout (three bedrooms, four beds, one bathroom) and share the same garden, parking, and amenities. Romana is on the ground floor with a porch opening into the garden, and pets are welcome there. Teja is on the first floor, reached by stairs, with a terrace looking down into the garden. If you have a pet or want flat access, choose Romana. If you want morning light and a view from above, choose Teja.
Are pets welcome?
Yes, in Apartment Romana, after a quick chat with us. We love pets but we do ask that they're calm and won't damage the property. Pets stay inside the apartment, not on the terrace or in the garden. Apartment Teja does not allow pets, since it's up a flight of stairs.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Check-out is by 10:00 AM. Check-in is flexible if you arrive later, just message us on Airbnb so we know when to expect you. There's always one of us here to greet you.
How do we get to Stara Novalja?
By car or taxi. The nearest airport is Zadar, about an hour away by car. The Pag bridge connects the island to the mainland, and there is also a ferry crossing at Žigljen. Once on the island, follow the main coastal road through Novalja and over the small hill to Stara Novalja. We are roughly 800 meters past Planjka beach, on the right side. If sat-nav tries to take you up onto small roads on the hill, please stay on the coastal road instead.
Will it be quiet? I've heard about Zrće.
Yes. We are on the quiet side of Stara Novalja, over the hill from Novalja town. Zrće beach and its clubs are about 10 minutes away by car, but the noise stays there. We do not allow loud parties at the apartments, and quiet hours run from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Families with children come back here year after year for exactly this reason.

Very nice hosts — they greeted us every day with a smile and were so accommodating with all our questions. The apartment is near the beach, in a quiet part of town. We used the kitchen and terrace a lot for our meals. Everything was in perfect order. Thank you.

A wonderful holiday has come to an end! It was a beautiful stay with such attentive hosts (Miroslav and family) who always had an ear for us, no matter what we asked. He even handled the communication for us when booking a trial dive for my granddaughter. As helpful as anyone could hope for. If we ever come back to Croatia, we already know where we'll be staying 😉
